Cant understand how long it took for me to discover Judy's novels......I like stories with a mix on history and an interesting storyline, also like well described interplay between the sexes, family, friends and reflecting reality of human experience.
Judy's characters are real, the times she describes accurate, so you can immerse yourself in the story. Its a plus when you have lived through an era described, with me growing up in Sydney post ww11, later in the '60s, Vietnam war, social changes ...wonderful !

A great read, well written as Judy Nunns books are, full of history and intrigue. Easy to read as she goes .from one era to another. I have visited Vila and Vanuatu and this book has taken me back to the early days with little effort....
A read you could not put down, looking for a sequel please.
what a great book could not put it down but a bit slow in the first chapter but the rest of the book well and truly made up for that I was hooked till the end
Enjoyable combing history, travel into a great novel.
Judy Nunn has produced another winner....a tale set in both modern times and the pre-war era had me engrossed from the first chapter. England and Vanuatu are the landscapes around which the story is set, and the friendships and loves of the characters made this book a really enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed this book at stages i just read into the night until you get so tired your eyes just close. recommed this and i will be reading more from this author.
Judy Nunn is an excellent story teller. Blends history into her novels and you learn something as you are reading a very enjoyable book
